Spatial Reverse Engineering (long overdue)
Spatial (De)construction - Extracting Discontinuous Perspectives from Escher’s “Relativity”
Interpreting the painting through a set of plan abstraction and re-interpreting the “new” plan into a regenerated 3D perspective.
Sequence of Spatial Transitions.
Voids vs Solids - How does the movement inform a space? (urban/interior labyrinth - loops, circulation, unknown space, misleading, losing orientation etc)
Portfolio Template Draft

The size of the sheet is A2. I have left part of the colour palette empty to be filled out as needed, at a later date. I chose the colours so far based on urban tones for foliage, pavements, sand, gravel, etc. The dual tone on the left is meant for emphasising attributes for series and iterations of drawings. A tone somewhere in the magenta range might have been a better contrast to gray/black, but I’m not sure yet that I want to add that colour to the palette.
Themes and Sites of interest
Sites: Notre Dame/Place Dauphine/Photoquai/Place des Vosges
Other sites considered: Le Louvre/Musee du Quai D’Orsay/Palais de la Justice and adjacent square
Recurring Themes: Enclosure/Symmetry/Repetition/ establishment and dissolution of boundaries
Symmetry:

All chosen sites present some degree of symmetry. Some have specific elements that are repeated and mirrored (Notre Dame, Place Dauphine) and some have proportional symmetry.
